The SSI Pool Freediving course is a great introduction to freediving in the controlled, familiar environment of a swimming pool. On the course you’ll develop a solid base of skills and practices including breathing and breath-hold (static apnea), dynamics and safety/rescue protocols.

You may find that on completion you wish to explore further and deeper into the sport of freediving. By adding open water sessions and completing the knowledge/skills review, you can upgrade to the SSI Freediver (Level 1) certification which is required by most dive centres to join club or boat dives.

Skills covered include:

– breathing techniques

– static apnea training

– freediving specific rescue training

– body positioning

– finning techniques

– buoyancy basics

– equipment care

Course Prerequisites:

– To be able to swim
– To be age 12 and over
– Medical history form
